The weed laws in Canada have become generous since legalization so this means that yes, you can fly with cannabis! Read along for more information on rules as well as must-have cannabis products for your flight from our Whistler dispensary.
What are the rules?
You can travel with cannabis as long as it’s within Canadian borders but, it’s illegal to enter or leave with cannabis. The rules are as follows:
Meet the minimum age requirement for weed possession of the province or territory you are in.
Your cannabis product can be stored within a carry-on or checked baggage.
Domestic travellers are permitted to bring the maximum legal possession limit of 30 grams of recreational cannabis.
If you are carrying more than 30 grams, you will need to dispose of the cannabis at the security screening checkpoints, before travelling.
Cannabis oil is permitted in carry-on luggage as long as it follows general liquid restrictions. This means that you can pack up to 100mL in your carry-on. For greater amounts, you must have a medical marijuana prescription and ensure to bring your documentation.
Regulations for travelling while intoxicated remain the same. Airline employees have the right to refuse service to a passenger they believe to be intoxicated.
For efficiency and ease, vape pens are the way to go. Check out the variety of strains such as the Forbidden Fruit in our online Whistler weed shop.
Please note: You can travel with vape pens but they may not be allowed in checked baggage due to the potential fire hazard. Make sure to check with the airline.
Take the edge off before takeoff with these tasty and popular gummies. Each one is 10mg so you can dose with confidence.
CBD oil is a great option for those who want to support their body during a flight, but don’t want to experience the “high” effects of THC. Our Whistler CBD oils are non-psychoactive and full spectrum.
