Recreational use of cannabis is legal all across Canada, and British Columbia is the best place in the world to get weed, because this is where the legacy industry thrived, and thus learnt how to grow it. Also the quality of water we have here, also makes the difference why all the other provinces cant grow it as well as here.
So tourists around town are asking, “Where can I buy weed in Whistler?” and “Isn’t Whistler supposed to be a party ski-town?”
But when it comes to weed, the most reputable place to get cannabis that the locals rely on is Mount Herbal, a delivery cannabis service bringing weed to your door, instead of you going to a cannabis shop.
You have 100% consumer protection at Mount Herbal, as all products come with 100% refund if for any reason, you are unhappy, which has never happened. That is because Mount Herbal source products from what is called in the industry, the local “Kraft growers”, who have small operations which produce higher quality products , because they are smaller operations, so the production quality is higher, they have less over heads, and and are 100% legal. So any one that knows anything about weed, want to source their weed from Kraft growers.
The other producers are called “licensed producers” , who are massive operation of weed growing, across the country, in cheaper land areas, that aim for quantity over quality. So what has happened with all these massive licensed producers has resulted in massive stock piles of weed, in fact over 1 million kilograms of unpackaged weed. So what happens to all that weed, it sits until its ready for packaging. So by the time the mass produced packaged weed gets to a store, it can be upto 2 years old. After that, it has to be thrown away. So what do you think the age of this weed is going to be from looking at these stats below? upto 2 Years old!! And we can tell you from being in the industry, the talk is as of June 2022, this inventory number will be even higher when its finally updated, after being out of date for 9 months?!? A coincidence? I don’t think so haha
If you are tourist wandering around, looking around the village for a weed shop then you simply need to order from the local cannabis dispensary, Mount Herbal, that will deliver to you because there are no dispensaries or retail cannabis stores here yet. They will take about 2 hours and longer in snow storms, just like any other food or alcohol delivery service in town.
Weedmaps was heavily used by other cannabis delivery services from 2018 – 2021, but then they chased the rules, so that platform was no good anymore for whistler weed consumers. Only the stores in squamish or vancouver could use the platform.
Here is a summary of weed rules in Whistler:

The Whistler Municipality has started the process that to allow Whistler cannabis dispensaries.
They organized a meeting, with all interested parties to discuss
recommendations on how to permit and regulate cannabis retailers under a Temporary Use Permit (TUP) framework. There are talking about 4 licenses, maybe a 5th. They are Creekside, two in Whistler Village, Function Junction, and a potential at Nesters.
People will apply and the council members will decide who gets it. Based on political conversations in the town, most of the licenses will go to the biggest business in town opposed to the small independent entrepreneur that wants to have their own business.
Municipal has started working on the regulations and necessary bylaw amendments and said something will be ready late 2022.
However, there is no set date for a Whistler weed shop to open its doors.
